The mark may be that of J H Middleton & Co of Longton who operated c.1889-1941

The Old Hall  works were rebuilt in 1790 by Job Meigh (1750-1817) it was demolished in 1905. 

the same mark as was used by the Old Hall Earthenware Co Ltd.

"ENGLAND" was added from c.1891
