Earthenware manufacturer at the Villa Pottery, Cobridge, Stoke-on-Trent, England
  • The main output was white ironstone china for the North American market.

  • The principle partners were Absalom Wood and James Rathbone operating as Wood, Rathbone & Co. Absalom Wood was a descendant of the Moses Wood branch of the Wood family of potters.  

  • The '& Co' were Thomas Francis Wood (son of Absalom), Enoch Colclough and William Dunn. 

  • In November 1868 Rathbone left and the business became Wood, Son & Co. 

 

Subsequently: Wood, Son & Co
